![]() ![]() It is more restrictive because it is a simultaneous constraint solve across the supply chain, not level-by-level solve. before determining the creation of the Plan Orders. Master Planning takes into account various aspects in the supply chain such as availability of raw material, No New Supply Dates, BOM components and WIP availability, etc. Fulfillment is creating an unconstrained production orders that are dictated by the periods defined in the Coverage Duration for that particular SKU in the supply chain not traversing up to raw materials and components. Has anyone else had this problem and did you find a working solution?įirst of all, MPSRule 1 (Coverage) behavior in Master Planning is different from the behavior in Fulfillment. We have run Fulfillment up to this point so its never been an issue. Is there a setting in the Master Planning setup that allows MANU to create two planned orders within the same MPS coverage duration period? I would expect it to be created as soon as the constraint is removed. What I dont understand, is why the next planned order for that finished good, is not generated for another 28 days, or the end of the MPS coverage duration. (Maybe 8 days coverage) I understand that. (We want our planned order to cover the next 28 days of demand.) If there is insufficient line time available or we have a shortage on a component, the planned order will only be generated for what the system says we can make. We are using MPS rule 1 coverage and have the time period set at 28 days. The problem occurs when we constrain the process using master planning. The planned orders are then exported into our MRP system to drive component demand and eventually be converted into shop orders. MANU is integrated with our manufacturing MRP system. All supply is manufactured, not purchased. These are generated from within MANU to satisfy the demand created by live customer orders and forecast. We are using Master Planning to create planned production orders for Finished Goods. ![]()
